I have been facing lots of ups and downs at work lately... it hasn't been easy, but sighhh.... we all need the money right...?
Having been in the industry for 16 years has not been easy. I have gone through lots of different bosses... more often than not, usually they are bosses from hell. Only 3 bosses have made it to my list as being a decently good one. That brings me to the question of what is the definition of a good boss?
It isn't easy to define. Cos everyone's expectation is different. But most importantly, they should help us grow. Their management skills should exhibit understanding, support and trust. They need to understand that no one takes up a job to skive! They need to know that we are adults and know the consequences of such actions. Rather than living on suspicion and mistrust, they should learn to let us grow and improve. Such actions just KILL PASSION at work.
A boss needs to teach subordinates. Not delegate work and then sit behind the desk and order us around. That is not a person worth respect. We don't need someone to breathe down our neck for the sake of ensuring work is done. We need someone to guide and support us and provide support and manpower when he sees that we are drowning.

It makes me wonder, if all bosses should go through a programme to learn that. So that all of us can be happy going to work. My heels are wearing out from dragging my feet everyday to the office.......
